Plight of the American Farmer
Write a letter to the editor about the plight of American farming during the 1920s and 1930s. You may write from the view point of a farmer, a food buyer, a member of the Farm Board, or a business person. Letters should reflect your beliefs in the importance of farming, and suggest solutions to the crisis, while criticizing or approving solutions already being offered.

Dear President Hoover,
I do not that think that the price of the important crops have been raised!!! I can barely feed myself and family as it is. Please do the nation a huge favor by lowering the prices.
Sincerely

Dear President Hoover,
I beleve that the price of farm goods sould be higher than they are now.I don't have enough money to buy supplies for my farm to work as it sould be.We will be in your debt if you sell the surplus. We farmers have laying around on our farm.

Hello,
I am a hardworking farmer who has lost a lot of during the depression because of crop prices dropping and supply prices increasing. Crops are very important because people need food to live and I think crops are far more valuable than the amount of money they are selling for now. A solution that I came up with is that the government should give farmers some money each month for seeds and gardening tools so we can continue to produce crops without wasting money on supplies and make a decent living.
Sincerely,
John Padgett
HI, MY NAME IS LINAE I AM A HARD WORKING FAMER. AND I HAVE NOTICED THAT MY CATTLE ARE STARTING TO VANISH. AND MY CROPS ARE DYING. I THINK THAT FAMERS SHOULD BE ABLE TO HAVE MORE MONEY THEN THE AVERAGE AMOUNT. IN ORDER TO LIVE AND FEED OTHERS WE HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER DURING THIS DEPRESSION.& THIS IS FOR A GOOD CAUSE SO THE MONEY WILL NOT BE WASTED. ON NON IMPROTANT THINGS.
THANK YOU!.
SINCERLY .LINAE =}

Hello,
My name is Justin, I am a food buyer. I think the prices of the food should be lowered. My family sometimes goes days without eating good. We have to eat bread and drink water because it is the cheapest thing out their. If you lower the prices then more people will buy food. Something needs to be done.
